Serving around 400 boys, the Operation Tuli, in cooperation with Center Health Professionals, was one of Mayor Casurra's flagship projects this summer and was sponsored by Miles Chua, Rotary Club of Surigao, Caraga Pawnshop, VIP Kodak and Janice M. Ensomo.
April 23—Pacific Cement Co. (PACEMCO) Phils signs a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the City Government of Surigao to utilize domestic, yard and market wastes from the Surigao Sanitary Landfill as alternative fuel supply in PACEMCO. The MOA was signed on April 23, 2009, a day after the World Earth Day celebration by Mayor Alfonso S. Casurra, general services chief Armando Elumba, and PACEMCO executives Innocencio Cortes and Julius Yballes.
