FUNCTIONS:
  1. Develops program relative to the operation of animal breeding, which include swine, cattle and carabao through natural and artificial insemination activity in order to upgrade our local animal stock wth the support of the City and National Government.
  2. Assume immediate responsibility of preventing zoonatic diseases/animal diseases transmissible to men, assuring the safety of food and food products derived form animals; and assisting in the maintenace of safe environment through proper animal control, animal waste disposal and use of animal monitoring system.
  3. Conduct animal health monitoring as well as disease surveillance through ante-mortem and post abattoir inspection.
  4. To promote and disseminate all useful and practical information, knowledge and skills, new technology in case, management, animal disease prevention, control through livestock training and seminar to all barnagay under local source.
  5. To promote and maintain the health of food and working animals through prevention, control and eradication of pest and diseases throughout the city as well as enforcement of laws and regulations pertaining to animal industry.
  6. To give continuous support livestock producing and other livelihood products through divided program.
  7. To implement policies, procedures, guidelines, rules and regulations governing meat inspection in order to protect the interest, health and general welfare of the meat consuming public.
